Academic Scholarship Program To date, 58 four-year tuition awards to Florida Atlantic University has been awarded to students irrespective of their participation in the tournament. Funding for the scholarship program comes from tournament proceeds and corporate partners like Publix Super Markets and A.F. Best Securities Foundation. In May, the 2011 scholarship recipients were announced at the Broward County School Board's BCAA Awards Banquet. Lauren Menapace (Ft. Lauderdale High) received the A.F Best Securities Foundation/Kreul Classic Scholarship and Shameka Seabrook (Dillard High) was awarded the Publix Super Markets/Kreul Classic Scholarship. Recipients are selected based on their classroom performance, community involvement and financial need. Menapace and Seabook excelled in the classroom and in their community as well as athletically. Menapace was a four-year member of the girls' soccer, track and cross country teams, a straight-A honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. Coral Springs resident Seabrook was a four-year member of the Dillard girls' basketball team which notched another state championship win in 2010. Seabrook earned recognition for her contribution to the team as a second-team All-County Sun Sentinel selection. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Crime Watch. Businesses interested in becoming a Kreul partner in education should contact the organization at info@kreul.com. In addition to providing a student with the gift of education, partners also receive exceptional exposure through comprehensive benefit packages for the Kreul tournament, youth camps and other activities.
